SearchThat is created by many different jquery plugins, scripts, and or various elements used in creation of the site from other wonderful developers and me. This site was created as a hobby and a good start on web developing on learning many different languages. As I learned over a few years the site is growing rapidly in code. SearchThat.net wasn't the first name the site had. The first name started from a website back in 2004 called BlackBoxSearch. That site was designed to show many site search bars to give the user a choice to search on their favorite search engines. That site died in 2008. That gave me the option to create my own. This is when SearchBlackBox.net was created back in 2009. SearchBlackBox.net stayed alive until I shut down the domain name in Aug 29 2014. Some domain company has it now. SearchBlackBox.net started as a website to forward your searches like the old BlackBoxSearch in 2004. In November 16 2010 I came across a site called tutorialzine. Martin Angelov created a search engine that was powered by Google’s AJAX Search API. This was the start of a self usable search engine. It was the default for quite some time. In Aug 8 2014 was the creation of SearchThat.net. SearchThat.net stopped using the tutorialzine search in Feb, 11,2016 because googles API was shutdown. Today the site uses Google CSE Custom Search. BlackBoxSearch was revived as Box Search in the Site Map page. SearchThat.net in June, 7/2017 has moved to a real server on the Godaddy Linux web hosting shared with destructiveburn.comISSUES
Today it works with many devices including your tablets and smart phones. Old browsers like IE 7 and under are all blocked.SITE CODE & SERVER
The site runs .xml / .html / HTML5 Canvas / .js / .css & css3 / .ttf / .gif / .png / .less The site is siting on a file manager site called enjin. It's not a proper server and sometime it will be changed to a proper one.PROFIT
The site has one google ad that sits at the bottom of the page. Please don't block it. The site needs to start making some money.PLUGINS
SearchThat.net is created by many different jquery plugins.
Most of these plugins are created as examples or other useful elements for websites. They were imported to SearchThat.net as a tool for use in what they were designed for. Some of these plugins like the calculator or stop watch is default tools on smart phones. The thing is with the ones on here can be useful to some devices like the Wii U or others that don't have these tools.
As a lot of developers plugins added The MIT License (MIT). I still gave them credit for their work. The MIT License (MIT) looks like this: Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software. As using other developers code, I believe it to be necessary to give them credit even if they wave all rights to the code. Credit PageABOUT MYSELF
My Name is Chris Hawryluk
I have many trades and many ways to do things as do we all. Spelling is one of my downfalls lol.
I grew up with computers from the past like MS-DOS 1.0 and MS-DOS 3.1 and the others.
Learning to know code just to play a floppy disk games is what got me into code. I really enjoyed fixing computers and modifying the OS files to make them do what I wanted. I grew more to cyberspace coding (Internet coding).
I spent a lot of time creating themes on Userstyles.org. My Youtube theme is 3rd place on the list. You can check out my page here: Userstyles DestructiveBurn Hobbies: Coding is one of my hobbies. I love to learn, and it could be useful in the future. I love to tinker and put things together or modify it. Gaming who doesn't? Craft building Electronics & DIY projects.
